Plant Breeder Assistant

A plant breeder assistant supports crop breeding programs by coordinating schedules and experimental plots and performing hands-on tasks such as planting, maintenance and harvesting. The role involves setting up and operating lab equipment, maintaining accurate breeding records and preparing reports to ensure data integrity.

What Responsibilities Will I Have?

  • Coordinate plant/seed breeding schedule
  • Provide technical support to relevant clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with technology providers to support program objectives
  • Perform manual tasks required for seed and crop production
  • Set up and prepare equipment for experiments
  • Operate and maintain essential lab equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of breeding activity and crop development
  • Coordinate planting, maintenance and harvesting of experimental plots
  • Support communication with marketers and end-users about technical aspects of the company’s products
  • Prepare reports, maintain breeding records and ensure data integrity
