Técnico químico
Chemical technicians support senior scientists by conducting experiments and analyzing the properties of materials. They prepare chemical solutions, operate and maintain laboratory equipment, and help monitor quality and production processes. They also assist senior chemists with recording and analyzing data, preparing reports and communicating findings to the broader scientific community.

Perform chemical tests and laboratory experiments
Measure, mix and prepare chemical solutions and reagents
Monitor chemical processes and ensure product quality
Collect, label and organize chemical samples
Set up, operate and maintain lab equipment
Conduct experiments and interpret results
Perform routine measurements and calculations
Prepare reports, graphs and charts of findings
Assist chemists and chemical engineers with projects
Use various types of chemical instrumentation
Test agricultural products, fertilizers and food safety samples
Identify quality deviations and report issues
Maintain lab organization, inventory and chemical storage
Follow safety protocols and handle chemicals properly

Education/Training Required
An associate degree in chemical technology, applied sciences or a related field, such as chemistry, biochemistry or laboratory science, is typically required. Those with a bachelor’s degree in similar fields would increase their chances for employment and advancement once on the job.
