Pricing Coordinator

Pricing coordinators serve as a middleman between commodity traders, commodity marketers and company administration. They determine the appropriate prices for products and services using market research and knowledge gained from working closely with the marketing and sales teams. Pricing coordinators will also create pricing tools to ensure that sales staff have effective tools to support their jobs.

What Responsibilities Will I Have?

  • Ensure that accurate pricing for goods and services is provided
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery and other purchase terms
  • Lead, design and manage tests to determine the price of products and services
  • Provide daily summaries of products purchased and sold
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships
  • Identify, initiate and lead cost-saving programs
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, trends and supplier capabilities
  • Create pricing tools and guidelines for sales staff
  • Collaborate to ensure that business needs for pricing and cost communication are met
  • Work with other departments to ensure the correct processing of payments
  • Ensure that the systems required for data support are checked and confirmed daily
  • Resolve procurement problems
  • Professionally represent the company one works for
  • Provide feedback to merchants and sales managers regarding competitor activity
  • Review feedback for selling and purchasing opportunities
  • Maintain a quoted minimum and maximum price level based on historical and market price level

Education/Training Required:

An associate or bachelor’s degree in agricultural business, finance, accounting or a related field is required to be a pricing coordinator.
