Computer System Analyst
Computer system analysts are responsible for helping organizations use their computer systems in a way that supports organizational goals. They create improved systems by collaborating with colleagues to determine where computer software and technologies can help them in their roles. Computer analysts help to supervise the installation of new systems, determine cost benefits and continuously review if the systems are working.

What Responsibilities Will I Have?
- Supervise the installation or implementation of new systems
- Assess physical and technical security risks to data, software and hardware
- Perform research on latest trends and emerging technologies
- Determine the costs and benefits of IT systems
- Analyze workflows and recommend systems to match
- Train users on the use of computer software
- Consult with management to understand organizational needs
- Analyze the cost and benefits of different IT systems
- Develop policies, procedures and contingency plans to minimize the effects of security breaches
- Test instruction manuals and train system and end users
- Write technical documentation
- Conduct reviews to assess quality assurance practices, software products and information systems

Education/Training Required:
Computer systems analysts typically have an associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer programming or a related field.
