Payroll administrators work in a support role for the payment of wages to employees. They ensure that employees’ salaries get paid correctly and on time and that the employer complies with relevant tax laws and other rules. Payroll affects many parts of a business so they usually will work closely with other departments such as human resources.

¿Qué responsabilidades tendré?

  • Calculate payable hours and ensure that they match with records
  • Assess deductions and additions to salary entitlements
  • Prepare banking requirements for wages
  • Interpret and analyze salary information
  • Remain aware of changes to company benefit plans
  • Document and update information to maintain employee files
  • Maintain internal wage records
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets for salaries and wages
  • Identify and provide solutions for potential payroll issues and concerns
  • Participate in the review and development of compensation practices and programs
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed on time
  • Review paperwork and import files received from human resources
  • Prepare submissions for 401(k) contributions (company-sponsored retirement saving accounts)
  • Provide all information and materials requested for financial audits
  • Oversee and prepare payroll records for tax purposes

Formación requerida:

Although it is not required, an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, agricultural business or a related field would be beneficial to a payroll administrator.
