Learning, Training and Development Specialist
Learning, training and development specialists create programs that help employees build skills and improve performance for both them and the company. They collaborate with professionals across the organization to design specialized training that meets specific business needs and requires expert knowledge. Their work ensures employees gain the skills and understanding needed to perform effectively and adapt to evolving workplace needs.
What Responsibilities Will I Have?
Develop instructional materials and learning resources
Facilitate workshops and hands-on training sessions
Assess training needs through surveys, consultations and skills gap analyses
Design and plan curriculum and training programs based on participant needs and available resources
Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust content
Collaborate with managers to align training with goals
Support career development and succession planning for the organization
Coordinate onboarding programs for new employees
Train and supervise instructors to lead training sessions
Research new technologies, instructional methods and training best practices
Maintain accurate records of all training activities
Monitor training costs and prepare budget reports to justify expenditure

Education/Training Required
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business organizational management, adult education or a related field such as psychology is typically required. Employers also prefer candidates with experience in staff development or similar roles.
