Gerente de Relaciones Públicas y Comunicaciones
Los gerentes de relaciones públicas (RP), relaciones externas y comunicaciones son responsables de crear y administrar planes de comunicación, así como de dirigir las actividades destinadas a forjar relaciones con el público, lo que incluye a consumidores, clientes y clientes potenciales, así como a asociaciones externas, organizaciones gubernamentales y medios de comunicación. Los gerentes de relaciones públicas mantienen y construyen una imagen de marca positiva para los asuntos públicos, difunden noticias que afectan a la industria agrícola y al público, y gestionan la comunicación en situaciones de crisis. Los gerentes de relaciones públicas actúan como enlaces al gestionar las relaciones entre sus empleadores y las partes interesadas externas para generar confianza.
¿Qué responsabilidades tendré?
Define communication strategy, including creation and management of communication plans, and supervise staff
Develop and maintain the organization’s brand and public image, working closely with marketing
Drive relationship-building efforts to shape trusting connections with the public and key stakeholders
Present information and news to the public and stakeholders, sharing beneficial data in easy-to-understand language and visuals, supported by analysts, market research, statistics and data
Successfully plan new product and service launches, ensuring maximum positive exposure and adherence to protocols; work closely with marketing and product managers
Serve as a liaison between the organization and external contacts, conferring with governmental and policy experts
Management of media liaison, press releases, speeches, promotional material and the creation of public relations opportunities and media coaching for senior managers
Oversee media relations and community outreach, often with a focus on agricultural conservation, sustainability and animal welfare practices
Proactively identify key issues that may impact the business and create strategies to address the problems
Direct crisis communication plans and external affairs; address negative issues surrounding products as part of business-unit marketing initiatives

The following high school courses are recommended: agricultural education, business, communications, speech, English, journalism, mathematics and art.
Formación académica/capacitación requerida
A bachelor’s degree in agricultural business, agricultural communications, public relations, communications, marketing or journalism is required.
