A role as an information technology (IT) configurator is a functional consulting role, usually specializing in the configuration (specific combinations of hardware and software used in IT systems) of large software products. IT configurators prepare gap analysis (comparing actual performance with expected performance) between different levels of programs. Additionally, they establish time schedules with the programming and business sections for computer programming and configuration scheduling.

¿Qué responsabilidades tendré?
- Prepare gap analysis between program versions and complete documentation as needed
- Configure various modules to meet specific business requirements
- Design and develop interfaces, reports and forms
- Test software and monitor for any changes or concerns
- Provide post-implementation support
- Plan and lead software upgrades and complete configuration scheduling of upgrades
- Utilize conceptual understanding of other functional areas
- Establish time schedules with the programming and business sections of the company
- Ensure adequate communication is provided so users are aware of any change
- Facilitate process improvement
- Develop new functionality of software
- Identify and track individual configuration items and document their functional capabilities
- Provide an underlying consistency to the IT environment

Formación requerida:
A master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or a related field is required to be an IT configurator.
