They communicate benefits rules and regulations to employees and manage records for benefits. Benefits managers ensure the security of the data required for successful administration by the third-party administrators and choose the best benefits supplier for the company.

- Review various benefit plans for salaried and nonunionized associates
- Advise a company on which benefits program should be used
- Communicate with companies that provide benefits administration systems
- Research benefits program options and anticipate price changes
- Communicate benefits rules and regulations to employees
- Prepare documentation for staff regarding benefits packages
- Act as a liaison between the management team and employee
- Negotiate payroll and befit service contracts
- Manage records for benefits
- Hire and train benefits staff
- Support the HR team to help improve recruitment and retention
- Keep current on new benefits services offered in the workplace and applicable benefits legislations
- Create benefits reports and budgets
- Ensure all benefits plans operate in compliance with applicable government regulations

Formación requerida:
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, business administration or a related field is required to be a benefits manager.
