Analista de seguridad de la información

Information security analysts design, develop and implement security measures to protect an organization’s computer networks and information systems. They work to take preventative measures against viruses and data breaches. Information security analysts routinely test the organization’s information and cybersecurity. They develop emergency and recovery plans to ensure network and data maintenance, including file backups. Creating a standard security plan, recommending new enhancements and educating staff on security procedures are also part of this role.

¿Qué responsabilidades tendré?

  • Oversee the organization’s networks for security breaches
  • Create and execute security strategies to safeguard the organization’s networks and systems
  • Perform tests to assess risk of security breaches, identifying areas for improvement
  • Monitor systems, collect data, track and report on relevant metrics
  • Work with data encryption programs, virus protection systems and firewalls for information security
  • Troubleshoot and investigate any data breaches to identify vulnerabilities or security concerns
  • Develop emergency plans to recover data
  • Maintain backups of files and data
  • Create or update the organization’s standard information security plan
  • Keep aware of new technological developments and recommend security enhancements
  • Train staff in security protocols and systems

Education/Training Required

Most information security analysts typically have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, mathematics, agricultural business or related field. Some positions may hire applicants with a two-year degree and relevant experience.
