Beef cattle farm workers assist in daily operations and duties on a beef cattle farm. This can include birthing, feeding and breeding. They assist in breeding programs, maintain equipment and maintain high standards of animal welfare.
¿Qué responsabilidades tendré?
- Prepare, mix, measure and distribute daily feed rations and monitor feed stock
- Identify sick animals and determine proper treatment or contact a veterinarian
- Assist in breeding programs including artificial inseminations and synchronization
- Assist and monitor the transportation of cattle to markets or other locations
- Assist in the branding and tagging of calves
- Assist in vaccination programs
- Maintain and assist in the development of the farm infrastructure including fences and barns
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Understand current beef markets and industry standards
- Maintain high standards of animal welfare
- Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns and pens

Formación requerida:
A high school diploma is required. Although it is not always required, an associate degree in animal science or animal husbandry would be recommended for an administrative position including operations manager.
