Educador postsecundario - Profesor universitario
Postsecondary educators teach courses at the college or university level within their specialized area of expertise. Some may also conduct research, publish original research, apply for grants and supervise graduate teaching assistants as part of their role within the university. They collaborate with other educators, scientists and agriculture professionals on research projects and courses to keep up with developments in the field.

- Design and teach classes in chosen discipline subjects
- Prepare and deliver lectures
- Utilize and teach the most recent technology within the industry
- Prepare course materials such as instructional plans, presentations and handouts
- Demonstrate technical skills and tasks in laboratory settings
- Supervise graduate teaching assistants and their research
- Assign and grade papers and laboratory projects
- Conduct research in subject discipline and publish papers
- Keep up with the latest research about changes and innovations in the field
- Apply for and secure grant funding for research
- Collaborate with other educators, scientists and agriculture professionals
- Advise undergraduate and graduate students
- Attend meetings with other faculty and staff
- Serve as advisor for clubs and organizations

Formación requerida:
Most postsecondary educators will have a doctorate degree in their chosen disciplines. In some cases, a master’s degree and working experience in the area of specialization will suffice.
